Such textiles are increasingly rare today, as traditional hand spinning has largely disappeared. The fabric weighs approximately 313 g per linear meter, has a width of about 132 cm, and features a beautiful natural brown sheep wool colour.
This exceptional handwoven wool fabric in twill weave is woven on a traditional loom using 100% hand-spun wool yarn in both the warp and the weft.
Today, fabrics woven entirely from hand-spun yarn are becoming increasingly rare. Traditional hand spinning requires great skill, time, and experience, and only a small number of craftspeople continue this work. As a result, textiles made from fully hand-spun yarn are difficult to produce and seldom available.
The twill structure creates a flexible and durable fabric with the characteristic diagonal pattern found in many historical wool textiles. Combined with hand-spun yarn, it produces a cloth with a distinctive character and authentic appearance that cannot be replicated by modern industrial fabrics.
The beautiful natural brown colour comes directly from the sheep's wool and has not been artificially dyed, preserving the original character of the material.
